Anthony Leto, #5 – RHP/Outfielder

Anthony Leto is one of many reasons I was so excited for our team this year.

Anthony is a tireless worker with an insatiable thirst for getting better. He was a mainstay in the weight room in the off-season and a frequent participant in our open gyms.

Anthony, unfortunately, has had injury adversity in his high school baseball career. However, like the cliché goes, it isn’t the adversity that reveals your character, it is how you respond to the adversity.

Anthony tackled the setback and rehabilitation with a positive, can-do attitude. He didn’t mope but instead put his nose down, got to work, and was on track to contribute to a successful Varsity campaign.

And, to me, that is Anthony: positive, hardworking, and, best of all, a great teammate.

We will miss the opportunity to see Anthony toe the rubber and get hitters out, track baseballs in the outfield, and hit line drives in the gap, and that is a shame.
