Tuesday at Hartman Park was Senior Night, one last time for the boys to play in front of the home crowd and they delivered a gem. A combination of strong offense, defense and pitching led to a 6-2 Redmond victory over the visiting Juanita Ravens.
The Mustangs came ready to play. They had the best first inning of any Redmond team in recent memory as the first six batters all singled to start the game. RBI’s by Colin Curry, Seth Kreysar, Kai Drotz, Ryan Rembiscz and Casey Lennon-Jones led to a 5-0 lead after one. That’s all the pitching staff would need as Redmond Ace Ryan Rembisz went 5 innings and allowed just 2 runs on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts. Coling Curry and Austin Paul both contributed outstanding plays in the field. Tristan Coggan and Casey Lennon-Jones closed the door on the night when they pitched scoreless 6th and 7 innings.
The 2020 graduating class who lost their senior season, was recognized before the game. Following the game the nine 2021 seniors were recognized along with their families on the field. It was a memorable night. The Seniors saved their best played game of the year for their final one at Hartman Park.
