Our Redmond Varsity Mustangs’ effort to come back from a four run deficit in the first inning came up just short, as they fell 4-3 to Liberty on Saturday.
The Mustangs fell behind early in the loss when Liberty scored on a home run and a single in the first inning. However, Redmond Varsity Mustangs rallied for three runs in the sixth inning keeping Liberty back on their heels. The sixth inning rally happened on an RBI single by #8 Andrew McBain scoring #5 Aashish Krishnappa and a 2 RBI single by #1 Ethan Tung bringing in both McBain and #3 Jon Holmen.
#12 Hiroshi Johnson started the game for Redmond Varsity Mustangs. Johnson pitched well lasting for four innings and allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two. #2 Dillon Hartman admirably threw two shutout innings out of the bullpen allowing 1 hit and striking out three.
McBain, Tung, #14 Joshua Tyler, Holmen, #23 Josh Roof, and Hartman all had one hit to lead the Redmond Varsity Mustangs.
