Our Mustangs fought to the final inning but fell 5-2 to the Newport Knights on Thursday despite out-hitting them six to five.
In the first inning, the Mustangs got their offense started when an error scored one run for Redmond Varsity Mustangs. Newport pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning.
#7 Cameron Bradford started on the pitcher’s mound for the Mustangs. Bradford went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one. #14 Josh Tyler threw two innings out of the bullpen allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one.
Tyler, #6 Chase Lawson, #1 Ethan Tung, #9 Brandon Dayberry, #3 Jon Holmen, and #15 Mathias Gendzwill each collected one hit to lead the Mustangs.
