The Hazen Varsity Highlanders scored four runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Redmond Varsity Mustangs 7-1 on Wednesday.
#3 Hiroshi Johnson opened the game for Redmond Varsity Mustangs. The pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two. #4 Owen Gore pitched one inning giving up three hits and five runs while striking out three and walking three. #1 Kotaro Ishiyama pitched the final inning allowing three hits and two runs.
A steal of home by #6 Chase Lawson put the Mustangs on the board in the top of the first. #13 Isaiah McMahan, #2 Jay Heath, #12 Lance Burt, #9 Brandon Dayberry, and Lawson each collected one hit for the Mustangs. The Mustangs turned two double plays in the game.
The Mustangs play at home on Friday, 3/21, @ 6pm against the Bothell Cougars in their next game.
