Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but the Sammamish Redhawks were just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over the Mustangs.
#4 Owen Gore started the game for the Mustangs going 4 innings, allowing 2 runs (both unearned) on 3 hits, striking out two and walking one. #1 Kotaro Ishiyama relieved in the 5th inning allowing no runs or hits and striking out one. #13 Isaiah McMahan relieved the rest of the game allowing no runs and one hit, striking out one and walking one.
The Mustangs out-hit the Redhawks five hits to four. McMahan, #2 Jay Heath, #5 Leo Ciuca, #6 Chase Lawson, and #20 Aaron Larson each collected one hit for the Mustangs. Ciuca led Redmond Varsity Mustangs with one run batted in and went 1-for-1 on the day. The Mustangs turned one double play in the game.
The Mustangs next game is at home again on Wednesday, 3/26, 6pm at Hartman Park against the Mercer Island Islanders.
