The Redmond Mustangs could not keep up with Issaquah Eagles losing 6-2 on Monday at Eagle’s home field.
The Mustangs got on the board in the second inning after #2 Hiroshi Johnson singled, scoring one run. The Eagles capitalized in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-1. The Mustangs got their second run in the top of the fifth inning when #12 Lance Burt ground out to bring in Johnson from third base.
Burt toed the mound as the starting pitcher and went two and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (zero earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking one. #4 Owen Gore pitched three and one-third innings in relief for the Mustangs. The hurler surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out four and walking two.
Redmond Varsity Mustangs amassed nine hits in the game. #2 Jay Heath, #6 Chase Lawson, and #11 Aidan Kim each collected two hits for the Mustangs. Burt and Johnson each drove in one run for the Mustangs. The Mustangs turned one double play in the game in the bottom of the second inning when #15 Cavin Bowmer shoveled a ground ball over to #5 Leo Ciuca at second base who then tossed it over to #13 Isaiah McMahan at first base for the DP.
The Mustangs will travel to Bellevue for their next game against the Wolverines on Wednesday, 4/2, @ 4:30pm. GO STANGS BABY!!!
