Our Redmond Varsity Mustangs put the pressure on the Newport Knights in the bottom of the 7th inning in an attempt to come back from an 8-run deficit but fell short in their loss today to Newport with a score of 9-4.
#21 Vardaan Sangal was the starting pitcher for the Mustangs allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking two. #7 Sean Laizans came in for 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, striking out one and walking none while #4 Owen Gore relieved for 1 inning allowing 2 runs on no hits, walking four. #20 Nitzan Naveh finished the final inning for the Mustangs allowing no runs by striking out all 3 batters he faced. #11 Aidan Kim made the most of his chances at the plate leading the Mustangs with 2 hits in three at bats. #15 Cavin Bowmer and #10 Roman Collins each drove in one run for the Mustangs. #12 Lance Burt showed the ultimate plate discipline with 3 walks of the 8 walks for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs will travel to Mount Si to take on the Wildcats on Wednesday at 6:30pm PST.
