Mustangs Take Lead and Never Look Back In 13-1 Win Over the Bothell Cougars

Your Redmond Mustangs won big over the Bothell Cougars 13-1 on Friday on Bothell’s home field sweeping all this week’s games and placing the Mustangs in 1st place of their Conference division!

The Mustangs got on the board in the top of the first inning after #2 Jay Heath tripled with #6 Chase Lawson hitting a sacrifice fly to drive Heath home, and #9 Brandon Dayberry doubled down the left field line, bringing in a run. The Mustangs scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. #13 Isaiah McMahan grounded out, scoring one run, Lawson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, #12 Lance Burt doubled, scoring one run, and #11 Aidan Kim doubled, scoring two runs. The Mustangs scored six runs on four hits in the top of the sixth inning. Burt singled, scoring one run, #15 Cavin Bowmer singled, scoring one run, #20 Aaron Larson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and McMahan doubled, scoring three runs.

#3 Hiroshi Johnson earned the win for the Mustangs pitching the entire game. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run over six innings, striking out three and walking three.

Burt and Dayberry were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Mustangs. McMahan led the Mustangs with four runs batted in. The Mustangs had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. #2 Jay Heath, Dayberry, and Lawson led the team with two walks each. the Mustangs didn’t commit a single error in the field. McMahan had the most chances in the field with 10.

The Mustangs play their next game at home at Hartman Park – Les Dow Field on Monday, 4/14, @ 6pm against the Lake Washington Kangs. GO STANGS BABY!!!
