Registration for Spring sports is open and continues through the Friday before baseball tryouts begin—Feb. 28. LWSD has a clearance process to make sure you’re eligible for sports before you’re allowed to try out.
Pro tip: don’t wait. Registering for sports is probably not something you can do the night before the deadline. Here’s a pre-tryout checklist:
- Pay any outstanding fines.
- Buy an ASB card if you haven’t already. You must have a Redmond ASB card even if you go to a choice school, private school, Running Start, or home school.
- Make sure you’re academically eligible.
- Register using FinalForms. You’ll need to provide a basic medical history, insurance information, contact information for your doctor, and a hospital preference. Your registration information is saved from season to season and year to year, which makes the process simpler.
- Physicals expire every two years and must be current through the end of the baseball season (May 30).
- Registering through FinalForms requires parents and players to read and sign forms. Sit down together and go through the process.
- You’ll receive confirmation by email once you’ve completed your registration.
- Deadline to register: Feb. 28
LWSD charges a $200 participation fee to play baseball, although you won’t be charged until you’re on a roster (baseball is a “cut” sport). You can pay online via Parent Access or at the RHS bookkeeper’s window.
The RHS Athletics Office is your best source of information about sports registration, including how to navigate the process in FinalForms. The office processes registrations for all spring sports, not just baseball, so avoid the last-minute rush and make medical appointments, pay fees and fines, and turn in your materials well in advance.
