Duncan Warriner, #9 – RHP/1B/OF

My heart aches for Duncan Warriner.

Duncan is one of the best pitchers Redmond High School has seen and yet his career numbers will never be able to reflect that.

Unfortunately, Duncan missed his Sophomore year with a back injury. During his Junior year he came back to be the ace of our staff and a second team All-KingCo pitcher.

This year Duncan was poised to dominate the KingCo 4A conference. His ability to throw multiple pitches—and throw them pretty much wherever he wants—separates him from most pitchers in our league.

However, it just wasn’t his right arm that we were counting on this year, but his bat. Duncan was penciled-in to be our cleanup hitter and provide that same steady presence to our outfield.

Though some of what makes Duncan special is ability, it is also work ethic. He spent every off-season in the weight room. He was also a varsity cross-country runner. Furthermore, he is a calm, cool, collected customer with a dry, addictive sense of humor.

Duncan is a complete player—and so much fun to be around.
