Our Senior class was set up to lead our team in all the best ways: through consistency and positivity. Ben Chenevert fits right into all of those characteristics.
To me, Ben is a throwback, the kind of gritty, hard-nosed player that you love to coach. He plays the game hard, plays the game the right way, and he does so with an intense joy that infects his teammates.
Ben competes like no other, wanting to win always while enjoying the thrill of the competition and the opportunity to play a game he loves. He is the prototypical third baseman: someone who will chest up a hard ground ball, dive for anything in range, and sling it across the diamond with great velocity.
His strong arm plays well on the mound. Ben pitches with velocity and determination. He is a bulldog who just attacks, attacks, and attacks. I was really looking forward to watching Ben be a leader on this team and enjoy the great success that was his due.
